At the age of 18 I travelled to New Zealand and took up pottery mainly to make a few friends. 20 years on I now feel I am good enough to launch into full time potter and artist status. At the start of 2022 I moved with my family to Whanganui and started McLeod Pottery more seriously and became a registered business. I make stoneware kitchenware and give pottery lessons. Being self-employed is an interesting learning curve but I am enjoying meeting lots of new people, learning more about my craft and sharing my love. Moving to Castlecliff has been amazing and has filled a gap which was the sea. Growing up on an Island leaves certain imprints in the soul and the sea was the imprint I longed for. I really enjoy the teaching side to my business and sharing my art.
